January 22, 2011 - Calling all Bikers!  Here’s your chance to work off those holiday pounds.  Sports Chair, Kay Abbs invites us to join the Acme Bicycle Shop Saturday Ride.  We’ll meet at Cross Trails Shopping Center on Rt. 41 in Punta Gorda at 8 a.m.  After signing a release of liability and a quick review of traffic law, we’ll “start our engines” at 8:30 a.m. There’s something for everyone:  a Leisurely Ride, 10 to 12 mph;  a Moderate Ride, 13 to 16 mph; or a Break Away group for the more aggressive Floridian.  “Leisure riders” can plan to be back by 10 a.m. for a stop at Elena’s for a well-earned energy snack.  Non-riders: join us at Elena’s at 10 a.m. to celebrate our pioneer spirit over a cup of coffee.  Curious cats: check out www.acmebicycleshop.com/ride.  RSVP to Kay, bnkabbs@yahoo.com or 979.6667.  Wet roads, rain, temps below 50 = ride is cancelled.  Kay solicits your ideas for active outings that you’d like planned for our club---sports or games.
