The Commentator

Sandy has submitted the her article. The Board gave her kudos for her interesting and creative approach to her articles.

Web Site

The new Webmaster will need to update the entire web site and keep it current.

Old Business

The “Mash” party will begin at 6:00PM. The members response has been somewhat weak, perhaps because of the “Mash attire” requirement and the Mash-like menu. The Board agreed to change the menu to more non-military foods and to not require Mash-like dress, but to let members wear tropical shirts/blouses.

New Business

We hope to have Vice Mayor Harry Goldberg, as a guest speaker.

Mary Mazur reminded the Board of the Team Punta Gorda annual meeting 11/10/2009 at the Events Center and asked that we spread the word. A large group is expected.

For the XMAS Party on 12/14/2009, we will try to make up as many tables as we can, consisting of four Floridians and four Newcomers. Cocktails will start @6:00P.M. The caterer and menu will be the same as last year. They will provide table service and clean up. The entertainment will be provided by the Blue Bayou Band. The cost will be $30.00 per person, with members able to pay at Monday’s General Meeting.

For the January, 2010 Welcome meeting in January, besides wine and hors d’oeuvers, a game is planned that will get members moving around to different tables..

Mary will write a message regarding Membership renewal, to be included in the XMAS Party Invitation.

The Floridians will replace the Marines in running the toy drive “For the Love of Kids Foundation.

Despite the dwindling membership in the Newcomers, the Board agreed that while we can include them in certain events, they need to continue to abide with their club’s normal operations/functions.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:50.

Respectfully submitted

Susan(Sue) MacKay, Secretary
